ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Custom Fusion Inc. is the sole creation of designer Julian Mehu, founded in early 2019. The company and its works are a product of his more than 20 years working in both the design and art industries. Julian, a native to New York City, grew up in the West Village and was quickly immersed in its thriving art scene. He started his career working as an apprentice to Canadian born artist Jason Young, making sculptures and paintings at the age of 14. Young, known for his colorful abstractions and futuristic work, was one of a select few artists incorporating urethane resins at the time. Julian spent years honing the craft and went on to attend school for combination welding, CAD modeling, and advanced fabrication (CNC as well as 3D printing). After acquiring these skills, he worked for top tier fabrication shops where he learned how to manage and direct large scale projects. Understanding the ins and outs of fabrication led him to evolve his own creations. Custom Fusion has been a work of love from its conception for this designer. All the work is unique and personal, each with its own identity and purpose.
